Tour and the history of selected sites in downtown Kuwait City - Part III

Our next stop was at one of the traditional markets called Souk Al Mubarakiya or Heritage Souk.  It is in the heart of downtown Kuwait.   If you can think of it, you will probably find it at this market.

This is the Exchange Area in Kuwait.  It is right across the street from the Heritage Souk.

The gentleman in the picture is our tour guide - Dr. Ebrahim Adsani, the GM of the AWARE Centre.  The building in the back was where the Sheik would "hold court" so that the people would have access to him.

This is looking down one of the "streets" in the Souk.  We were there very early.  In the afternoon, and especially in the evenings, the place is packed.

DP standing in front of one of the posters that you see everywhere.  The pictures are of previous Sheiks of Kuwait, the little ones, and the large pictures are of the current Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah and Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmed al-Sabah.
After our stop at Souk Al Mubarakiya, we continued on and I got a couple of pictures of Sief Palace and the Marina where you can still see the traditional styled dhows anchored.
